Waar het allemaal begon? Where did it all started?

A single trip to the island of Madagascar.

"This photo was taken on Betania, Madagascar, and the only way to get here is by a wooden 'canoe' along Morondava Beach. Betania is a small island where mainly fishermen and their families live. Uninvited but with a welcoming heart, I was received here. Unfortunately, my visit was short due to the weather, but the photo below speaks volumes. It was a wonderful experience to be able to play football with these unique boys and their handmade ball. Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, and that is easy to see in everything. This, in my view, is what makes Madagascar simultaneously so beautiful and special. Every photo, but also every person behind the photo, has its own story to tell. It was an impossible task for me as a photographer to do nothing. My eyes were opened and a new dream came to light: my heart filled with love for the beauty of poverty.
